Every time I make these little sugar cookies I get rave reviews.  They are easy to make and you can dress them up easily for any occasion.  First you mix up your sugar cookie recipe.  I don’t recommend store bought dough because that’s not the way Grandma did it and I like doing things the way Grandma did them.  So get out your wooden spoon and your favorite sugar cookie recipe and go, Girl!

Roll your dough into walnut sized balls.

Place them in a mini tart pan.  I bought mine from Pampered Chef, but any one will do.

Squish into little tarts using a squisher tool (I’m not really sure what it’s called, but it’s also from Pampered Chef).  I’m sure a thumb would work well too.

Bake following the directions for your recipe.  Mine calls for 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.  Remove them from the tart pan immediately to a platter to cool completely.  Then decorate!  I like the icing in a can (yes, I know that’s not how Grandma did it, but please cut me some slack).  Homemade icing is actually easy to make and tastes wonderful, so if you’d rather, go ahead!

Add sprinkles or any decoration that is appropriate for your occasion!  For Valentine’s day use red or pink icing and add a candy heart to the top.
