Our school fundraiser packets came complete with mustaches. Fundraisers … yuck …. mustaches … made it a little more bearable. It made for an evening of fun anyway. They wore them ALL evening. They were actually quite soft!

Both my children went off to church camp yesterday.  Parting is such sweet sorrow!  The sweet – I love that they are in a place where they will learn more about their Heavenly Father, I will get some me time, there will be no arguing or mean talk … The sorrow – I will be without them for four more nights, they won’t get tucked in properly and they will miss me horribly (won’t they!?)!  Awwww, it’ll be alright for the first couple of nights, but the good quiet that comes from them being away quickly turns into a too quiet, longing for their return.

Some parents may think I’m crazy for wanting summer to last all year so I can spend more time with my kids, but I feel I am blessed for each moment I get with my children and love spending time with them.  I am content with my portion from the LORD … my portion to be a mother.  Free time is great, but I look forward to having my babies back with me soon.  There will come a time in my life when I won’t have them with me everyday.  Until then I will hold this time as precious and enjoy every moment.

In Mark 14:7 Jesus says “For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always.”  I like to think He would also say, “For the dishes and laundry and free time you have with you always, but your children will only be with you a short while.”  I’m sure He would say just that!!!

Mothers, enjoy your children.  Savor each moment.  This is your gift from your LORD.

Love and Farmgirl Hugs,

Kristy
